October 10, 2019

IoM is excited to announce Aaron Simpson as their new Creative Executive.

Based in Los Angeles, Simpson is an Emmy-nominated animation producer, writer and development executive with extensive experience in both linear television and digital realms.

Most recently, Simpson held the role of VP of Development and Current Series at Saban Brands where he produced Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty, which premiered on Nickelodeon in 2018. Prior to Saban Brands, Simpson served as the VP of Development at Disney TV Animation where he helped bridge a number of digital-first creators into the traditional linear space, and spearheaded the development of several heritage titles, sourced from the vast Disney archives.

Before arriving at Disney, Aaron Simpson spent five years at Mondo Media leading the charge in uncovering, developing and launching hit series such as Baman Piderman, Dick Figures and Deep Space 69, which found massive audiences around the world. Pioneering distribution and audience-building techniques in tandem with these properties, his efforts led Mondo into the Top 10 most-subscribed film & animation YouTube channels.

A former Vice President of Animation at JibJab Media, he received an Emmy-nomination as a Producer of the Kids’ WB series Coconut Fred’s Fruit Salad Island. Simpson also developed Johnny Test for Warner Bros., and was Senior Producer of Original Content at Sony Pictures Digital, where he helped architect Screenblast– a forward-thinking entertainment portal that helped launch what is now known as Robot Chicken.

Aaron Simpson’s extensive resume also includes founding Cold Hard Flash, a popular news and entertainment website that focused on the world of Flash animation, and Lineboil.com, a blog about the broader world of character animation.
